Project Engineer

Purpose & key responsibilities of the role
The Project Engineer role will strengthen the Plant Improvement Team by providing engineering and control of projects - from design concept, through the tendering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages, all the way to handover to plant management.
Principal Accountabilities
- You will receive project scopes and develop them into detailed project plans, communicating with all stakeholders to ensure that dates are understood
- You will liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to prepare initial cost estimates, and prepare capital vouchers
- You will provide technical support for the Process and Engineering teams, developing detailed written specifications for equipment & services for the tendering process; reviewing tender returns with Purchasing and the Project Manager; and raising all necessary requisitions
- You will manage design changes and the required project documentation and storage; project manage service providers and the installation of equipment; and support the commissioning process of new/modified equipment
- You will report project progress to the Project Manager, and ensure that SHE matters are appropriately managed
Your ideal profile
- You hold a relevant Engineering degree, or an HNC supported by proven project engineering experience
- You are capable of working fluently with computer systems and a variety of programs including Microsoft, SAP and other engineering systems
- Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment would be beneficial
- You can demonstrate a safe and responsible attitude, and involvement in developing the safety culture
- You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- You are willing to be to be involved in and support any engineering task required by the business

The gross anual salary for this position will be £50-60k, dependent on qualifications and experience.
